NO FRUIT FOR MOTHER.

He left us apparently to broaden his choices.
But what am I going to do now with four children
and only one wage packet. I’ll manage, somehow.
Now where did I put my list, ah there it is.
4 apples, 4 Pears, 4 oranges, 4 bananas.
I’ll just have to tighten my belt a little

-----------------------------------

Early this morning I posted a 55 which I had dashed off in order to have something to write. I wasn't happy with it so I asked my brother for his opinion, "Not up to your usual standard" ,he replied. I deleted it. Better not to post than to post something that I felt was substandard.

As I was going about my morning tasks, seeing to my children's needs and picking up after them, an old memory of my Mother's shopping habits came back to me. I didn't understand its significance as a child, but I do now. Thankyou Mum.

I have few pictures of my Mother this one is from my wedding day.

cathy you are gorgeous. Mums are so special and so are you. I don't belive anything you do could be substandard.

I miss my mother too. She died in 2005. My sister lost her mom in March 2005 and her husband left her with absolutely no warning on July 1, 2005. She's just recently 'recovering' from it. It's a hard business. Your blog is beautiful, sad and cheerful at the same time. I'm glad I visited. I will again.

I suspect you are a reader. There is a terrific novel by an Italian woman on the subject currently close to your heart. The English title is "The Days of Abandonment" by Elena Ferrante. It is a very intense book filled with raw emotions. Fair warning. Some people find solace in identifying with the characters in novels, some don't. You know which one you are.

Cathy, what a nice tribute to your mom. You and she are sweethearts. Now I'm thinking about my mom, who has been through so much in the past six months.

Moms can be really wonderful.

By the way, those four children are fruitarians, I see! :)

Your mu looks happy and proud. Your heart-shaped face is so refined!

As for the poem, seems things haven't changed in many decades (probably centuries).I know my aunt used to do without so that her husband and children could eat well. Her spine crumbled in later life. What a price to pay.

Magatha, glad you like it. Your garden pics often cheer me up.My mother is still alive but I don't get to see much of her since I moved to Greece.

Dan, Well something to do with fruit anyway:)

Val, yep my mum has back problems too, among other things.

Lime,I hope they aren't sad ones.
