On Thursday, April 24, 2008 Jocelyn posted
“Just Sayin”
Apparently inspired by…
This Is Just To Say.
by William Carlos Williams.
Her response was, as always, excellent entertainment and inspired the following poem which I left as a comment.
As I have received no inspiration since and also think that anyone who hasn’t visited “O Mighty Crisis” is missing out I decided to post my ditty here.
I also suggest that you all take a few days off work so that you can go and read Jocelyn’s blog from start to finish.
Now weighing…
I have gained
12 pounds
Since the day we were married.
I have no siliconed breasts
Or liposuctioned thighs
To incite your ardour
Forgive me
For becoming
The mother of your children
Instead of
One of those porn queens
You so admire.

brilliant and achingly sad, cathy.
Sarcastic and meloncholy at the same time. Nice.
You know, I hope that you know that his porn is different than his love.
Odd, men.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the kind shout-out here, Cathy. This was a thrill for me.
As for your poem, which I admired and flinched from (which is a compliment) when I read it in the comments, it is poignant bitterness distilled.
A very moving poem Cathy, thankyou for sharing it.
Straight to the point and pointed...
I prefer natural beauty myself.
ha ha but really i dont admire any porn queens. hate porn.
Where were you? Good to see you back and blogging
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was feeling sad that I hadn't been able to visit your blog for ages because of all my computer meltdowns which meant re-doing my favourites. Then you post on my blog, I follow the link here and - you've only just done a post subsequent to the last one I read!
But what a great post.
On the other hand, I would never trust a Porn Queen to watch kids. There is always this undercurrent of irresponsibility with those types. That is why if I ever start a daycare center, I will not knowingly have any Porn Queens working for me.
